In case the car documents are getting lost or stolen (or cannot be returned together with the vehicle) the renter will be fined with EUR 114.00.
In case the licence plate is getting lost or stolen the renter will be fined with EUR 228
Administration fee for fines is EUR 57.00 per case on top of the fine's amount (e.g. parking fine; traffic offences).
Winter tyres are provided between the 15th November and 15th of March.
All Hungarian highways are toll roads, and can only be used by purchasing a highway pass (plate number based "e-sticker") in advance. Using the highway without a valid pass will cause a fine, as the plate numbers are checked by video cameras continuously. The fine is about 68.40 EUR per event (video controlled), and will be charged to the client's credit card, as well as a handling fee of 45.60 EUR per fine.

You are responsible for all fines and charges issued as a result of you or your additional drivers using the vehicle. Fines and charges could include:
o All parking fines or charges
o Toll charges
o Towing charges
o Clamping costs
o Traffic fines or charges
o Speeding fines
o And any other charges or fines
If a fine or charge is sent to us because you haven't paid a charge or complied with the law, we will take payment for:
o Our administration fee of 45,60 EUR for each fine or charge issued in the United Kingdom to cover our costs of dealing with the fine or charge
o Plus, the fine or charge - if we have to pay it
Speed limits in Hungary are as follows:
50 km/h within city limits
90km/h on main roads
110km/h on freeways (these are toll roads)
130km/h on highways (these are toll roads)
Usage based on mileage and kilometre is 500 km for rentals shorter then 28 days. Please make sure you review the details during the reservation process.
Special monthly rates include 3600 km per month.
On the assumption of exceeding the kilometre limit an extra fee will be charged depending on the rented car category for rental longer then 28 days.
For categories;
N,A,C the costs of EUR 0.16 per km,
D,B,F,H,K,G,I the costs of EUR 0.17 per km
P,E the costs of EUR 0.20 per km
M, the costs of EUR 0.22 per km
j,O the costs of EUR 0,29 per km will apply, whereas for categorie L EUR 1.06 per km is payable.
An insurance claim handling fee of EUR 57.00 applies each case a new damage occurrs, regardless of the renter's responsibility.

Windows and Tyre cover (WTC)
Windows and Tyre cover reduces client's liability to zero in case of damages made to tyres and windows.
WTC can be purchased only if both Basic Protection (CDW and TP) are purchased or included in the rate.

EUR 11.40 per day for car group: C,G,H,I,K,M,P

Additional drivers can be added for EUR 5.70 per day.
Any additional drivers must be present at the time of the pick-up of the car. All drivers must meet our conditions of rental. See the Driver Licence/ID and Age Requirement sections for full details.

Minimum Renting Age:
Please confirm minimum age for renting each car group you have on fleet
Client must be at least 21 years old to rent at this location, except car groups E,J,L,O where driver must be at least 25 years old. In case of the customer is between 18 and 21 years old a young driver surcharge must be paid, except car group E,J,L where young driver fee is not available. Young driver surcharge is EUR 6.15 per day (plus tax).

In case the customer is over the age of 99 years old client cannot rent
Young Driver Surcharge amount & age applicable for charge:
Client must be at least 21 years old to rent at this location, except car groups E,J,L,O where driver must be at least 25 years old. In case of the customer is between 18 and 21 years old a young driver surcharge must be paid, except car group E,J,L where young driver fee is not available. Young driver surcharge is EUR 6.15 per day (plus tax).

Payment Credit & Debit Cards Accepted:
We accept the following major credit cards: Visa Classic, Eurocard, MasterCard, Amex. For car group E,L,J we need two credit cards, or one Visa Platinum/Infinity or one MasterCard Platinum. All costs related to the rental will be charged in Hungarian Dorints (HUF), based on the MNB's official exchange rates. We don't accept Maestro cards, Visa Electron cards, Cirrus cards, JCB cards, any pre-paid cards even if they carry the Visa or MasterCard logo or any other cards not listed above

Security Deposit / Pre-authorisation amount:
(This is the amount that is held on a renting customer's payment card when picking up their vehicle)
Yes, you must give us a pre-authorisation on your payment card before we release the vehicle to you. A pre-authorisation holds money in your account.
You'll need to give us a payment card in your own name that has enough money available on it.

Prices may subject change without prior notice. Cash cannot be used for the deposit.
The amount of the pre-authorisation is calculated based on:
1) Damage excess and
2) the vehicle rental price (including all optional extras you've requested), calculated at the start of the rental based on the intended length of the rental.
If you have selected our Pay Now option, when booking, the sum you have paid will be deducted from the pre-authorisation value.

Taking your vehicle outside the country | |
Border crossing permit from Budget Hungary is required at the time of pick up with valid international insurance card. In case of non-schengen border cross passport is mondatory from the renter.
Cross Border Charges: 46,10- 205,10 EUR
The vehicle can be taken out of the country only with a written permission issued by Budget Hungary into countries of Schengen area (except Greece), Croatia and Switzerland. The cross border fee is 46.10 EUR per rental. Bosnia-Herzegovina; Montenegro; Romania; Serbia can only be visited by paying an additional cost beside cross border fee. Car group E, L, J are not allowed to be taken into these countries. All other countries are prohibited to enter.

Basic Damage Protection (CDW)
Basic Damage Waiver reduces client's liability. In case of the vehicle is damaged a repairing cost has to be paid up to the excess amount

Out of Office Hours - Return
If the vehicle is returned outside of office hours the driver is liable for damage or theft until the car has been inspected by a member of Budget staff.

This service is only available at Budapest Airport location (BUD), and it is free of charge.
This service is only available at the Budapest Airport location upon written confirmation from Budget Hungary. The service cannot be booked online, it must be requested directly by email. It costs 21.80 EUR/Hour after opening hours. For collection service and we will need the following information: flight number, contact telephone number, credit card details. If you do not collect the vehicle a no show charge of 72.10 EUR will apply. If the vehicle is returned outside of office hours the driver is liable for damage or theft until the car is inspected by a member of Budget staff. You may return the vehicle out of hours if you request it at the time of pick up. This service is only available at Budapest Airport location and is free of charge.

Drivers license and ID requirements | |
Each driver must show photographic ID card proof of identity or their passport at the start of the rental. All drivers must present a full and current driving licence which has been held for at least 1 year. The licence must be valid for use in the renting country.
If your licence was issued outside the European Community you must provide an International driving licence.
